Senior Practitioner Diploma in Health and Wellbeing Coaching 

This Level 5 health and wellbeing coaching course offers participants the opportunity to achieve Senior Practitioner status by extending and deepening health coaching competencies, models and professional practices related to the UKIHCA professional standards framework, EMCC health coaching competencies and as outlined in the NHS England Workforce Framework for Health and Wellbeing Coaches. 

Our Diploma course has a modular structure comprised of core and optional modules as described below. The aim is to develop ‘Senior Practitioners’ with an ongoing commitment to evolving their practice and this course is the perfect stepping stone to our Advanced Diploma for those looking to achieve Master Practitioner coaching status.

The course is delivered flexibly with rolling start dates and options to take modules in varying sequences to suit your schedule and interests.

Key Features

On successful completion of the Diploma programme, you will be able to:

  • practice as a health and wellbeing practitioner at NHSE Tier 3 or above

  • become a full membership of the UKIHCA

  • apply for recognition as an EMCC Senior Practitioner

Pre-requisites

  • Peak Health Coaching Practitioner II Certificate, or equivalent

  • Participants should be active health coaching practitioners or in roles where they regularly use a health coaching approach. 

Course Length

  • Learner led, usually around 9-12 months.

Learning Outcomes

This course offers the opportunity to:

  • Work independently, with support, and as part of a peer network, to consolidate your practice as a health and wellbeing coach 

  • Deepen your knowledge, skills and techniques for reflective practice

  • Develop your identity as a coach and be able to express your coaching philosophy and approach to professional practice

  • Develop research or quality improvement skills to enable you to research or evaluate health and wellbeing coaching practices

  • Develop a special interest in researching evidence-based practice, supervision or quality improvement.

  • Achieve PCI-accredited and UKIHCA-approved Health and Wellbeing Supervisor status (optional, supplement applicable)

Course Structure

Throughout the course you will work on your Professional Practice Portfolio ready for submission ahead of your final oral assessment. You will have access to regular tutor-facilitated sessions to support you. In addition, you will take four core modules and select two further specialist modules to suit your interests. You should aim to log a minimum of 250 coaching hours by the end of the course.

  • Health Literacy

  • Health Education 

  • 150 hours practice

  • Working with Groups Module

  • Pain Management Module

OPTIONS BLOCK B

Participants select 1 from this block:

  • Workplace module

  • Independent Practice

  • Negotiated module 

OPTIONS BLOCK C

Participants select 1 from this block:

  •  Research Module

  •  Quality Improvement Module

  •  Supervisor Training (M1 and M2)

Assessment

  • Coaching log.

  • Portfolio/written assignments to evidence evolving coaching competencies, knowledge, understanding, skills.

  • Oral assessment (supervision).

The full fee of our engaging and innovative, Senior Practitioner Diploma in Health and Wellbeing Coaching  is

£3950 plus VAT

(This fee includes Foundation (Module 1),  Intermediate (Module 2), Practitioner I, 

Practitioner II Certificates plus learning and assessment for the Senior Practitioner Diploma).
