Master Practitioner Advanced Diploma in Health and Wellbeing Coaching 

This Level 6 course is suitable for those aspiring to become master practitioners in health and wellbeing coaching. You can register for our full Advanced Diploma from the outset, with no prior experience, and complete the programme over two years. We recommend, however, that you first complete our Level 5 Diploma in Health and Wellbeing Coaching and then ‘top-up’ to the Level 6 Advanced Diploma to enable you to navigate the learning options to suit your evolving interests and expertise.

Key Features

On successful completion of the Diploma programme, you will be able to:​​

  • practice as a health and wellbeing practitioner at NHSE Tier 4 or above

  • become a full membership of the UKIHCA

  • achieve PCI-accredited supervisor/senior supervisor certification (this is an option, supplement applicable)

  • develop specialisms in health education related to pain management, metabolic health, mental health or group work

  • tailor your learning to suit your interests

Pre-requisites

  • None to book the full Diploma Course

  • To step on at this level as a stand-alone course you will need to have completed the Peak Health Coaching Diploma in Health and Wellbeing Coaching, or equivalent *(see below)

  • Participants should be active health coaching practitioners or in roles where they regularly use a health coaching approach. 

Course Length

  • Learner led, usually around 9-12 months.

Learning Outcomes

This course offers the opportunity to:

  • Deepen you coaching practice at master practitioner level

  • Achieve Tier 4 NHSE health coaching status

  • Option to achieve supervisor or senior supervisor status (supplement applicable)

  • Develop specialist expertise in reflective practices

  • Develop one or more health education specialisms (e.g. pain management, metabolic health, mental health, group work)

  • Work independently, with support, and as part of a peer network, to consolidate your practice as a health and wellbeing coach 

  • Deepen your knowledge, skills and techniques for reflective practice

  • Develop your identity as a coach and be able to express your coaching philosophy and approach to professional practice

  • Develop research or quality improvement skills to enable you to research or evaluate health and wellbeing coaching practices

Course Structure

Throughout the course you will work on your Professional Practice Portfolio ready for submission ahead of your final oral assessment. You will have access to regular tutor-facilitated sessions to support you. In addition, you will take four core modules and select two further specialist modules to suit your interests. You should aim to log a minimum of 500 coaching hours by the end of the  course.

  • Professional Practice 

  • Health Literacy

  • Health Education 

  • Group Supervision  (additional supplement if required)

OPTIONS BLOCK A

​Participants select 1 from this block:

  • Research for evidence-based practice.

  • Quality Improvement Project.

  • Health and Wellbeing Coaching Supervisor plus Negotiated module (additional supplement).

  • Health and Wellbeing Coaching Supervisor plus Senior Supervisor (additional supplement).

Assessment

  • Coaching log 

  • Portfolio/written assignments to evidence evolving coaching competencies, knowledge, understanding, skills 

  • Oral assessment (supervision)

The full fee of our engaging and innovative, Master Practitioner Advanced Diploma in Health and Wellbeing Coaching is

£5950 plus VAT

(This fee includes Foundation (Module 1),  Intermediate (Module 2), Practitioner I, 

Practitioner II Certificates,  Senior Practitioner Diploma and learning and assessment for the Master Practitioner Advanced Diploma).

For those progressing on from our Senior Practitioner Diploma,  the fee is

£2000 plus VAT

*Entry to Advanced Diploma following Prior Learning

If you have not completed our Level 5 Diploma course in Health and Wellbeing Coaching but have undertaken equivalent level learning elsewhere, you can still step onto our Peak Pathway at this point. You may be required to top-up your prior learning with some ‘bridging’ modules before moving on to our Advanced Diploma and we will be happy to discuss this with you.

The full programme offers over 150 hours of tutor-led sessions including regular bespoke tutor-led sessions each month to support your growth as a health and wellbeing coaching practitioner. In addition, you will become part of an experienced cohort of advanced health and wellbeing coaching practitioners and participate in peer-led sessions with the opportunity to take on leadership roles if you wish. You can also take up our group supervision offer (at a reduced rate of £250 for six sessions per year) or you can arrange your own coaching supervision if you prefer.

We offer a tailored learning experience where, alongside core modules, you have the opportunity to specialise at Master Practitioner level by selecting a module of your choice from our Level 6 option block. There is plenty of opportunity to craft your assignments and portfolio work to suit your health coaching practice and personal interests whether working in independent practice, the NHS, voluntary sector or workplace.
