About our care navigation training

Person-Centred Approaches

A coaching mindset is one which sees everyone as resourceful with their own expertise, knowledge, and insights to bring to their situation. We believe this is at the heart of person-centred care. Great person-centred care starts at the front door, and involves the whole team, from start to finish. Care Navigation is a key part of this system. This workshop will introduce the principles of coaching and person-centred care, with a particular focus of their application at the 'front door' as part of Care Navigation.

Who is the workshop for?

Although this introductory session has a broad appeal across all levels of expertise and experience, it is specifically designed for frontline staff - receptionists, care navigators, health care assistants and support staff. This training fits with the ‘essentials’ or ‘Bronze level’ of Care Navigation as described in the 2016 HEE framework. No prior knowledge is necessary, but some preparatory reading will be supplied and will enhance the session. We will introduce coaching and communication skills, setting the foundations for further in-depth health coaching training. This course aligns well with other training we offer around health coaching.

What to expect from the programme

This 3-hour workshop introduces some key, essential skills and person-centred approaches. You will be engaged with memorable and practical exercises to stimulate your thinking. Our experience is that people leave enthusiastic to explore these concepts in more depth and consider how they can be applied.
